Swiss photographer Alexis Reynaud has been taking photographs for around 15 years. He has mainly focused on artistic and commercial works and has had more than 60 exhibitions in Europe and Asia. Recently, he created a series of standing cat portraits that cats standing on their hind legs which has gained a lot of attention on the internet.
He was inspired by his own cat, and then asked friends and friends of friends to photograph their cats. The cats were photographed in the homes of their owners and the same setup was used for each cat to give the impression that all the cats were photographed at once. Alexis did not use photoshop to make the cats appear as if they were standing, but rather a “trick” that he keeps secret and is done during the shoot, not in post-production. He emphasized that at no time were the cats forced to take the photos and the owners were always present during the shoots.
