The Internet is buzzing about a dog groomer from another country whose artistic designs have gone viral. Instead of giving his clients’ pets the standard trim, Gabriel Feitosa uses them as canvases on which he can paint imaginative designs and, in the process, make them look like anything from exotic animals to fictional TV personalities.
Aside from his boundless creativity, the secret to his dog-friendly method is a non-toxic, vegan dye made just for canines. Brazilian dog grooming artist Gabriel Feitosa, currently based in San Diego, has been making headlines for his innovative dyeing procedures that give canines the appearance of other animals. Around eight years ago, the artist began coloring his own dog and has since competed in a number of international creative grooming competitions. Gabriel tells DeMilked in a brief interview, “I’ve started attempting some interesting patterns on my own dog, but as soon as people saw it on the internet, it simply went off.”
He elaborated, “When clients plan appointments with me for a specific design or idea I never confirm on the spot. First, I need to see the dog in person so I can get a sense of its character and physical traits so I can design something that complements both. My passion for various forms of media (animals, art, gaming, anime, etc.) often serves as inspiration for these creations. I’ve found that when I’m true to who I am, my designs flourish, and I’m happier with the end result.
The artist also says that he employs non-toxic dyes and that his concern for the safety of the dyes stems from a genuine affection for animals in an Instagram video. On a dog with continual hair growth, the dyes will last for around three months. For the past 18 years, canines have been a vital part of my life and identity. There’s no way I’d ever put a dog through that kind of pressure or cause it any harm.
His first goal is to make sure his subjects are secure and comfortable while he provides them with his hygienic and cosmetic care service, and he made sure to express this to the dogs while he worked on them with his special gift.
“The creative sessions can take up to an hour longer than the normal grooming, but dogs are free to sit, lay down, and drink water the entire time. The non-toxic dye safely dyes the hair. Between the bath and the haircut, he also takes the dog for a stroll and lets them out “according to Buzzfeed, which contacted the stylist personally.
The 30-year-old has amassed over 1 million TikTok followers as a result of the popularity of his original content.
