Nikki Delventhal discovered Camper, her dog while hiking in Albuquerque in New Mexico, in September 2020. She and her mother were driving through a remote area searching for trails when she saw a dog following her car. Nikki immediately knew that she could not leave the adorable, sweet puppy in the middle of the wilderness. So when she opened her car door, he leaped into her lap. Nikki said that she was eager to adopt a dog but was still waiting for the right time. The Camper was that moment. Nikki Delventhal has now packed her Prius Camper and travels full-time to embrace homelessness and travel.
Delventhal started her journey to become an influencer and YouTuber after moving into her car. People love to see Camper and Nikki adventuring together, and she shares her road life with them.
Nikki saw Camper while on one of her many hiking trips. These trips were not a new idea for Nikki, a keen hiker. She was accompanied on that hiking trip by her mother. They thought the Camper would leave, but they realized that Camper was still there after following Camper for four miles. They weren’t left alone by this one.
The mom and the hiker immediately drove to the nearest shelter and asked passers-by if they recognized Camper. They paid for Camper’s medications and all the necessary care and treatment. Nikki and her mother left Camper there to rest and recuperate.
The lady hiker couldn’t stop thinking about Camper, so she returned to the shelter to claim him. Delventhal was thrilled to see her dog, so she adopted him and brought him home.
Camper loved the idea of hiking on remote trails, which Nikki loved, and Camper was a total convert. He became Nikki’s guardian and little trooper. The Camper was Nikki’s shadow, and they enjoyed each other’s company and love. The Camper was thrilled when Nikki gave him his first bone.
After all that, Nikki said that she felt down and out and decided it was the right time to get in her car and visit the US. She put her possessions in storage, and she set off with Camper.
